Overload of florals.

Is it weird to ride bikes in long dresses and wedges?

These were actually taken a few months ago, and most of them were during a family party. If you couldn't tell, I don't let clothes restrict me, riding that bike was a piece of cake. The dress I was wearing was from Urban Outfitters and the shoes were H&M.

So that's only about a tenth of all the prom pictures I/everyone took! Prom season means a thousand new pictures of everyone doing the same smile, but with different people. I tried to give this post a little variety, and show my awesome, stupid friends. I loved my gown, it was from White House Black Market. I wore metallic black/dark grey Jessica Simpson heels that were like 5.5 inches. I don't have a picture though. They were amazingly comfortable and easy to walk in for their height, score!

This spring, I had the amazing experience of visiting NYC every Sunday. I took a high school course at the Fashion Institute of Technology on Fabric Styling for Fashion. It was great, and I went around Manhattan many days afterwards with my parents. I'm posting this only a day after my last post simply because I'll forget to post this weekend, and I'm trying to stay consistent.

Off roading adventures...

Car problems.

These were taken a few weeks ago, somewhere a little far from my town. I'm not sure where we went.. But me, Christie, Marissa, and some of Marissa's buddies went off-roading. It was so much fun, I have to admit I chickened out at first but then they told me the trail was long so I sucked it up and went in the car. Some moments were terrifying, I thought the car was going to flip or not make it a hundred times. But I had a blast and I would love to go again! All the pictures were taken at the beginning of the trail, and the last two were taken at the end of it, you can see because it got dark. I obviously didn't take pictures WHILE we were in the car, I would have destroyed my camera in the process. I felt like I was in a Jeep commercial half the time or something.

There used to be a little mini forest right here, in the beginning of my street. The lot has been sold, the trees have been cut, and a new house will be built.

Weathermen lie. Yesterday was supposed to be in the mid 70s, it was actually much colder, cloudy, and very windy, if you couldn't already tell. Everyone in school was in shorts and short sleeves, we were lied to! I still went outside ahah. In the last picture I changed my pants because I went to go walk to my friend Amy's house and I didn't want to freeze.

I guess I should be a good blog and tell my outfit details. I will get into the habit of doing that in future posts.

mid run?

Obvious hobby of mine: Taking boring, clichéd pictures.

I'm in one of my favorite places in the world in the pictures here. One part is the woods behind my house, the other is the large vast of woods that continue across the street. Going there alone with my ipod feels so nice when it's cool outside. But I can never tell my mom whenever I go into the forest by myself because she gets paranoid. I do it anyways.

Hello! I'm almost done posting all of the pictures Christie and I took a little while ago. I still have some of her left!

I hope this blog will do okay. I'm not asking for a lot of people to love it but I'd be happy with a small following :)

I also like saying where I get my jewelry from because a lot of mine is from places farther away, and I like how they're a bit unique to me.

Hello! I am back to blogging, and very happy about it. I started in Feb 2010. (Even though I've been following fashion blogs since around august/september 2009?) I stopped in June because I really just wanted to do outfit posts but I didn't have someone to take the photos, and the camera I own doesn't have self-timer.

But around a week ago I was talking to my friend Christie and Lexi about starting it up again but I said I didn't have anyone to take the pictures. (I wasn't even hinting anything! lol) And Christie offered to take them for now on and Lexi encouraged me to follow through with it also!

So I will be posting very often. And it won't be only of me, I will be taking pictures of Christie too, she has an awesome taste in clothes so how can I not?

But it will mainly be run by me.

I think when I get some awesome camera, with a large, clear lens, IF that ever freaking happens, then I'll post more. I like photos better. For now, I'll just harp on some uninteresting things, cuz that's all I'm good at.

I will be making a replica of this sooner or later though! Excited.

Goodness I love jewelry, I could see myself creating this stuff for a living! Don't think I ever will though...

Swallow Your Pride

Swallows are such beautiful, interesting birds.

I would love to own one- any bird as a matter of fact birds are my favorite animal (next to kitties) but I don't have the heart to cage one. My older brother used to own a white parakeet named Peatree. I still remember that adorable birdie :]

If I could get any tattoo, it would be a swallow on my ribcage on my right side... even though I have this all planned out I would never get a tattoo.

It's a nice spring afternoon with the weather above 70 degrees outside. I'm sitting on my back porch eating a vanilla cone, I finished the rest of the ice cream in my house D: My next door neighbors are on their swing set and they're a little annoying. I don't think I've ever brought my laptop outside before...

I should be doing other things, like unpacking (I came home from Washington DC on wednesday!) or cleaning my room or actually getting around to trimming my bangs instead of pushing them to the side....

But it's nice out :]

So a little while ago I found out about this jewelry company called A(r)mor Jewelry. They've been blogged about a bunch of times, but I wanted my input :]

Their pieces are so original and daring and outrageous, I love it!

It doesn't only consist of necklaces and rings and earrings, but there are shoulder pieces and arm pieces.

^This one was the piece I saw on Fashion Toast and Where Did You Get That.

Those aren't everything on the site (armorjewelry.com) but its a jist. I showed my mom the site and the other day we went to the craft store and bought a bunch of chains and clasps and stuff. So I'll post about those once I'm finished with them. I pray they come out okay.

I also want to do some actual outfit posts. I'm promising all these posts and nothing!

I came home from Washington DC today, I was there for 4 days. I'll post the pictures of everything next post, I don't know where the camera is currently. But main thing I have to say about that trip- I saw a real life panda! :D

And now, I will be a copy cat because I am so amazing at that and post the same survey that was posted on Fashion Confectionary, but with my own answers. (No shit) I thought it was an interesting survey to read and would be interesting to do. So yeah. Testicle.

Who is your favorite designer? Rodarte is first, then Alexander McQueen and then Oscar de la Renta. But I also love Prada, Miuccia has such a great eye for design.

If you could come back as a dress, what would it be? Oh goodness this is difficult. Probably Marion Cotillard's 2008 Jean Paul Gaultier mermaid gown or Alexander McQueen's beautiful shipwreck glamour dress back from Spring '03. Or basically any gown from Rodarte, Alexander McQueen or Oscar de la Renta.

If you could come back as a model, who would it be? This is easy! Well it's a current model, Jac Jagaciak. She's so beautiful and it's weird saying it because she's exactly my age... I've always known she was my favorite ever since I saw her in Teen Vogue editorials when *we* were only 14 hahah. Then there's Magdalena Fracowiak, whose looks are so unique. Lastly, my 3rd favorite is Daria Werbowy, who American Vogue just can't get enough of. Those are just the top 3! Then there's Yulia Kharlaponova, Sasha Pivovarova, Karmen Pedaru, Natasha Poly, Anabela Belikova, Karen Elson, Jessica Stam, and Elsa Sylvan. But those aren't in order. Goodness I know a lot. I dare you to look up all of them. Then tell me your favorite out of those.

If you could come back with someone else’s body, whose would it be? Someones body? Daria Werbowy. Definitely. Or maybe Karlie Kloss because her's is perfection! and the fact that she's 6 feet tall.

What are you most vain about? The fact that I have good memory of names & faces (you can tell) and general crap.

Junk food? French fries! I'm disgusting :P Also, Double chocolate chip frappachino @ starbucks.

Who are your fantasy dinner-party guests? Oh boy. Alexander McQueen, Holden Caulfield, Tally Youngblood, Davey Havok, John Lennon, Marie Antoinette, Brandon Flowers, Danny Roberts, Abraham Lincoln, My late grandma Helyn, My late uncle Russell I never met, my late grandma Adua I never met, and my friends.

Biggest self-indulgence? Can't think of one, and I don't have money for that kind of stuff yet!

Favorite place to shop? H&M, Designer Collaborations @ Target, Aldo, Forever 21, American Eagle, Thrift/Consignment. But if I had a credit card - topshop, urban outfitters. The closest urban outfitters is like an hour away and the closest topshop is in Manhattan. And besides, it's always annoyingly crowded. Don't go christmas season.

Favorite place to shop online? I can't shop online (often, sometimes I convince my mom to get me things), I don't own a credit card. If I did, Topshop, Urban Outfitters

If you were an inventor, what would you invent? A way for humans to not destroy or overcrowd the planet.......

When and where are you happiest? At hardcore shows. Local bands or the favorites- this is always going to be true. I could spend my life standing outside a mosh pit watching big attractive guys wailing at each other while hardcore dancing, watching band members crowd surf (or fans) and watching blood drip on the floor (. . .) while enjoying to the greatest music in the world.

What are your favorite vacation spots? Anywhere that gets me away from home for a few days or weeks. Well not ANYWHERE. I don't want to go to Iran or anything. Lmao.

Most treasured possession? One of my family member's platinum and onyx turn-of-the-century ring that's 110 years old. I'm not sure who owned it, but knowing that it was given to me is the best feeling in the world. And my great grandma's wedding rings.

All about Alice, Hell too.

So I went to see Alice in Wonderland today, I've been waiting for it ever since I heard that Tim Burton was re-making it in the summer. I had a bit higher expectations for it, but it was really good. But I noticed the AWESOMEST thing. In this version, the weird, twisted tree that has the bunny hole that Alice falls into is the same tree that was in my all-time favorite movie, Sleepy Hollow. Which was also by Tim Burton, made in 1999. I noticed this actually in the poster for the movie I saw on the internet before I went out to see it. But in Sleepy Hollow, this tree was the resting place for the headless horsemen, who would go out at night kill his victims by chopping their head off and taking their heads through the "portal" through the tree's roots that led to Hell.

They're not EXACTLY the same. But its the same tree. I hope that wasn't a contradiction.

So Wonderland is Hell to Tim Burton? .. Not really but in the movie they do call it "Underland"
Tim's movies are my favorite, by far. And Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors.
I suggest to whoever reads this (which is most likey no one) to see Sleepy Hollow. I love that movie so much and I'm always in the mood to watch it. It's not frightening, the worst thing is seeing people getting their heads cut off. But Tim Burton always makes it super unrealistic. Like in Sweeney Todd with the basically orange blood.
I also love how Sleepy Hollow and Alice in Wonderland make references to each other because the Queen of Hearts always says "off with their head!!"

So if you haven't seen either movie (how could you?!?!) Then what the hell are you doing. Go.

Ode to my favorite sisters

I feel it's 100% necessary to make one of my first posts dedicated to my favorite designer, RODARTE. Laura and Kate Mulleavy I believe can do no wrong. They put on amazing runway shows and their designs each season have that dark, gothic feeling that I admit I cling towards.
So here's an overview of some of my favorite pieces by them, from many of their seasons. Pictures via style.com

Oh I adore this season, fall/winter 2010. The florals and knits together were amazing :) and the above image makes me think of a ghost.

Spring/Summer 2010 It's the way that the pieces appear to be falling/torn apart is what makes them so unique.

Fall/Winter 2009. The image above reminds me of a robot, and the boots are so weird and strappy :]

spring/summer 2009 was really one of their best seasons, there's much more diversity and who wouldn't want to wear that gown?

love every aspect of this one. I inspire a lot of my outfits from it, like the cardigan and how the cobwebby tights are under the pants, but you can see them through the open shoes. I love that big stain in the middle of the shirt, gives it that "blood is soaking the shirt" vibe. (well that's what I've read about)

Christian Louboutin designed these, aren't those spikes spectacular?!

lampshade skirts, what not to love?

spring/summer 2008 very whimsical, this is when they started getting into knits I'm pretty sure, and my goodness are they amazing at them!

I think you get it now, they make some great stuff. But my ABSOLUTE favorite part that they do is not the knits or the tye dye or the cobweb stuff, but it's the draping with the dresses. Draping I've always thought was so beautiful and they always incorporate it somewhere, and that's why they're my favorite. I didn't post pictures from all their seasons, that post would be way too long.
